Condition: Weimaraner Immunodeficiency

Weimaraner immunodeficiency is a condition in which there are deficiencies in your dog’s immune system. This leaves your dog vulnerable to infections of the skin and muscle and they are likely to suffer from recurring fevers. This condition is extremely rare and is currently incurable, however the secondary conditions can be treated with antibiotics as necessary. Your dog should not be used for breeding and neither should their parents. Other members of their family should be tested to see that they have normal neutrophil function and immunoglobulin levels before any (further) breeding takes place.
